How to use a GPX file
- Download the GPX file for your trail — it saves directly to your phone or computer.
- Import it into a free navigation app such as Organic Maps, Gaia GPS, AllTrails, or a Garmin watch.
- Follow the track offline — the recorded route shows on the map even without mobile signal, which most of these trails don't have.

Frequently asked questions
Are these GPX files really free?
Yes. Every GPX file here is a free direct download — no account, no premium subscription, no email sign-up. Click the link and the file saves to your device.
How were these GPX files recorded?
Every file was recorded first-hand by Kay Du while hiking each trail during the 60 Mountains Challenge. They are single-source recorded tracks — not user-aggregated or estimated routes.
How do I open a GPX file on my phone?
Import it into any GPS app that reads GPX — Organic Maps and Gaia GPS are free options. On iPhone, tap the downloaded file and share it to the app; on Android, open it from your Downloads folder. Full guide.
Do I need a permit to hike these trails?
Some trails inside Malaysian forest reserves require a permit. In Selangor, apply online via the SEFOREST system at least 2 days before your hike. Gunung Alai (Perak) requires a permit and a mountain guide. Check the current requirement for each trail before you go.
